Whether you know it or not

You are an agent of change.

Huh?

“A little over a year ago, The United Nations declared internet access a basic human right. You are a change agent whether you know it or not. Whether you want to be or not. Everyday you blithely browse your virtual network you participate in an engine of social transformation,” says Opensite.org.

Can I start over?

This morning I
1. Cancelled my alarm in my efforts to push snooze.
2. Split my cap as I was about to jump in the pool.
3. Was told I can't swim without a cap just when I had convinced myself that 2kms of kicking would be fun.
4. Found an obvious mark on my white t-shirt from where someone ironed the printed label on the inside onto the outside.
5. Lost one earring.
6. Forgot my ipod.

Today I
1. Got half an hour extra sleep.
2. Get to buy new a new swimming cap. What colour should I choose?
3. Get to sing for the island all. Day. Long.
4. Got to work early. Now I can leave early and go for that swim.
5. Am really appreciate my coffee.

See what I did there?

Hope you're off to a better start!

It's not silliness, it's spirit.

You really, really are

If, like me, you have a very busy day ahead of you, with so so many things on the To Do list.
If, like me, you are feeling a little less than fabulous because of that thing you ate, didn't get to gym and are endorphin-less.
If, like me, you need a little extra push today... here you go:
You really, really are, you know.
Go forth and conquer, tea in hand.

It's cold outside

But these two little trees are as adamant as I am that Spring is here.
Sure my short sleeves are covered by these jerseys that have overstayed their welcome in the front of my closet, but these two trees put a smile on my face and make me long for those sticky summery days whenever I venture out of home.
Keep going little trees!

Sweet, Sweet Sorbet

In honour of my faraway Mama's birthday and arrival on home turf, I took her to Sorbet for a little mani pedi.

Although we were in separate rooms, I could hear her delight when the deluxe pedi started with actual 'sanding' of the feet, not the dainty attempts at exfoliation you get elsewhere.

I was thoroughly impressed with the experience- the yummy smelling exfoliator and even yummier smelling creams... Well, except for the part when the manicurist called me out on my Very Dry Cuticles. I made a comment about winter having just ended and how surprised I was when I first wore sandals and realised, "Hey! I have toes!" She wasn't impressed. Not quite Joburg poppie standards, dear Robyn.

So, I got some Mavala cuticle oil and will apply it dutifully, and I will definitely be going back to Sorbet sometime. (Sponsorships??)

I picked an OPI colour but forgot to check the name. What a bad blogger I am. But I have pretty nails nonetheless.

Product Review

Cadbury Bubbly.

The verdict: it's a little messy to eat and quite hard to break off little pieces because it has bubbles as opposed to the regular chocolate rectangles. So as long as you don't mind eating a little more than you maybe should, and trust me- you won't mind- you'll be good. It's a pretty fun looking chocolate and tastes amazing. :)
Go get one... Now.
